Преступность в Манитобе

а вот преступность в Москве, полагаю что для Манитобы, да и всей Канады в целом, что-то из разряда непостижимого:

Про Манитобу сказать трудно (хотя вот кто-то жаловался, что стреляют регулярно, только не помню было это про Виннипег или про Торонто), а вот про Монреаль недавно было такого типа видео, там таксист давил хулиганов. Но, конечно, народу не столько. А недавний расстрел в Торонто Вы тоже пропустили в новостях?

Так что не непостижимого конечно, но сравнительно редкого, пожалуй.

Так и не надо ехать, Канада не резиновая.

Канада таки резиновая, и гостеприимная! А стреляют здесь исключительно в сезон охоты, и не по людям, а в лесах по зверям, и очень ограничено. И ни где хочется, а где разрешено стрелять. В темное время суток нельзя, например. Много правил, и они на благо человека.

Такого бардака как в видео про "черную" Москву здесь не видел.

Пару дней назад был случай "подозрительной смерти" рядом с Плам Кули 10 км от Винклера на запад, почитав комменты и другие источники, понимаю почему это именно подозрительная смерть. Есть версия сильного ветра и человек , водитель грузовика мог быть ударен дверью своего грузовика, через день в больнице он скончался, имя его не называют.
Вторая версия что ему дали по голове, думаю что с этой версией согласятся все обыватели форума.

The following is the weekly Winkler Police Service report, as submitted by the department, for the week of September 17th to 23rd.

September 17:
Shortly before midnight, officers received a complaint from a resident of Park Street advising someone had just knocked on his bedroom window. Officers attended and searched the immediate area; however no one was located.


September 18:
Parking habits at an auction sale on a residential street drew officers’ attention when a resident reported his driveway blocked by a parked vehicle. Officers attended and ticketed all vehicles in violation of Winkler’s Parking By-Law.


September 19:
At 6:30 a.m., a resident of Willow Drive called to report what sounded like a dog in distress. Officers attended and located the animal on Southview Drive, where the “dog-sitter” was just leaving the property to walk the dog. She was advised of the complaint.


September 22:
A call was received from staff at the Ardene outlet in the Southland Mall, advising they had a female shoplifter in custody. Officers attended and learned that the youth had stolen a sweater and a quantity of jewelry. The items were recovered from the youth, who had no record of prior police involvement. As a result of the circumstances she was released on a Police Caution. Her parents were also notified of the incident.


September 22:
Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle being operated in a suspicious manor, which resulted in a charge under the Liquor Control Act for unauthorized transport of liquor in a vehicle. An open case of beer was observed in the back seat of the vehicle, with one can being open and partially full. The accused stated she was drinking a beer because she just broke up with her boyfriend.


Our office continues to receive complaints of imprudent drivers from citizens in several areas of Winkler. Three traffic tickets were issued to drivers for imprudent driving this week. The three incidents occurred on Grandeur Avenue, Main Street at PTH #14, and Main Street at North Railway. Other traffic charges included Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, Speeding, and Use of an Electronic Device while driving.

да, у нас тоже недавно был "ужасный" инциндент. Муж утром сел в машину, а в зеркалах ничего не видно. Оказывается кто-то просто их закрыл не разбили, не скрутили, не сломали и грязью не заляпали, а просто закрыли, они у нас тут ещё и закрываются. Вывод: надо ставить сигнализацию!

Winnipeg is shit and Toronto is shit. No apartments under $1,000/month? walking down the street and looking around then having some guy at a payphone hang it up and come up to you and ask you what the F%&* youre looking at? People being rude to you for no reason even at Royal Bank when youre trying to open an account? Garbage on the streets? Leafs games always sold out then having to pay 3 times as much from a scalper? The possibility of a terrorist attack? No thanks! Give me Edmonton anyday. The only thing good about Toronto is the subway and weather.

What does Winnipeg have that compensates its people to put up with weather like this?
Does Winnipeg have a good economy?- Only for welfare jobs and for those that have family
Is Winnipeg attractive- no match for Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary or almost all other cities in Canada.
Does this city have a bright future? Even the mayor says this city is a mess.
Does Winnipeg have a good location? Not really, Beaches are well over an hour and they are mucky. No oceans, no mountains, just natives
Is this city safe? Top 3 in crime year after year. 3 or 4 murders already
This city is dirty, ugly, freezing, unproductive with very little to do. Anyone who thinks this city is great is crazier than Britney Spears.
Calgary maybe expensive but it has a great economy, location, winter weather (+10 today),
future etc.
All Winnipeg is is inexpensive!!!
All you Wpg lovers- Give your head a shake and wake up. Even the mayor is admitting this city has lots of problems.

Везде есть плюсы и минусы. В Калгари много ходят в паранжах, холодное лето, зимой слякоть и грязь. Сыпят солью и машины ржавеют быстро. Цены высокие на жилье.
В Торонто более двухсот тысяч нелегалов, огромное кол-во иммигрантов, низкие зарплаты, пробки, загазованность, большие расстояния, слякоть, грязь, соль...
Я могу на каждую гадость привести сотню хорошего и наоборот. Если вы живете в дешевом районе то наверняка рядом с наркоманами, поэтому снимите квартиру в хорошем месте и одной проблемой станет меньше. Если вы пойдете гулять в даунтаун в да часа ночи, то есть шанс что к вам пристанут, но с другой стороны что нормальный человек будет делать ночью в даунтауне? Поэтому все относительно. Основная статистика преступлений в Виниипеге, относится к коренным жителям, тобишь индейцам. У них междуусобицы которые поднимают общий уровень преступности по городу, а писать про это не политкорректно.

"If you look at the statistics, yes, we do have a very high violent crime rate, but it actually hasn't changed very much and it's gone down in a few areas in recent years," says Michael Weinrath, chair of the justice department at the University of Winnipeg.

A look at the numbers reveals what Manitobans know to be true: that the capital city and province as a whole hold several ignominious honours.

Among them, according to a Statistics Canada study on police-reported crime in Canada in 2010, are:

Winnipeg is the country's violent crime capital.
Manitoba has the highest amount of violent crime of all provinces.
Manitoba had the highest homicide rate for the fourth consecutive year.
Winnipeg has the country's highest rate of robberies.

But those figures are tempered by other statistics that show Winnipeg is indeed improving. In the same period, there was a seven per cent drop in the total crime rate, a 13 per cent drop in robberies, a three per cent drop in break-ins and a whopping 20 per cent drop in motor vehicle thefts.

Then again, the full statistics for 2011 are not in yet. The summer saw a slew of arsons that prompted firefighters to dub it "the summer from hell." A string of gang-related crimes, including fire bombings, kept police busy. With three months remaining in the year, the city is also just shy of its 2004 record of 34 homicides in a single year.

"Winnipeggers have a fragile psyche about this stuff," says Weinrath. "This stuff happens in Vancouver or Edmonton and they kind of shrug their shoulders.… Winnipeggers, something like this happens downtown and they just go, 'Oh woe is us!' and 'Downtown is just not that great an area.' "

По числу краж автомобилей Манитоба в 2011 (313,38 машин на 100,000) уступила Саскачевану (469,52) и Альберте (356,17), став шестой по счёту после Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Саскачевана, Альберты и Юкона. Это не может не радовать!!!

А я понял человек из Израиля и Украины пытается НЕ надеть себе розовые очки. Прочитали выражение обдолбанного наркомана, у него депрессия или еще что то типа того и уже делаем себе выводы что Канада дыра.
